The MYRIAD Project
Newsletter 20/10/2021
The Waldrappenteam has been working with the German Filmtank media production team for several years as part of the exciting and innovative MYRIAD project.
MYRIAD is an international cross-media project that follows global migration routes of selected animals in very different formats and narrative styles. In close scientific cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Animal Behavior, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin / Mediasphere for Nature and Waldrappenteam, MYRIAD combines the latest scientific knowledge and technologies with innovative narrative forms and sophisticated aesthetics.
MYRIAD brings different disciplines together: A combination of scientific research, impressive documentary recordings, artistic 3D animations and the latest VR technology allows us to experience at first hand these journeys through the globally connected ecosystems. The formats aim to change the relationship of the audience to the environment in a sustainable manner and to derive concrete steps from this.
The Northern Bald Ibis is represented very prominently with an animation and a 360 ° 3D documentary. This documentary celebrated its world premiere at the London Open City Dokumentary Filmfestival beginning of September and was then also shown at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma in Montréal. The 360 ° VR Experience was also shown at FIVARS in Hollywood and from the end of October to the end of November in London.
And this 3D film documentary is now also a finalist at the 11TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S LOVIE AWARDS. Two projects are in the running, with a deadline next Thursday. This award would also be a very special award for the Waldrapp project. Therefore we ask you to vote quickly for the MYRIAD project!
